The arrival of a baby brings joy and new beginnings, but it can also be an adjustment for the whole family—especially older siblings. Our August 2026 Siblings and the newborn class, part of the Transitions Into Parenting program, is designed to help parents prepare their children for this big change with compassion and confidence. This session provides practical tools and guidance to reduce stress, encourage bonding, and set the stage for healthy sibling relationships.

What you’ll learn in August 2026 Siblings and the newborn

  • Understanding sibling reactions: Common responses to a new baby and how to support your child’s emotions.
  • Encouraging connection: Simple activities that allow siblings to feel included in caring for the newborn.
  • Parenting strategies: Tips for balancing attention and routines with more than one child.
  • Managing strong emotions: Tools for helping siblings work through jealousy or frustration.
  • Fostering family togetherness: Ways to reinforce each child’s importance and role in the family.

By the end of class, you’ll have age-appropriate strategies and a supportive plan to help siblings feel valued while strengthening family bonds.
